Drax the Destroyer, as portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He first appeared in the 2014 movie Guardians of the Galaxy.
Originally a human named Arthur Douglas, Drax's family was killed by Ronan the Accuser. In the MCU, his backstory involves the loss of his wife and daughter at the hands of Ronan. This event fuels his rage and desire for revenge.
Drax is known for his incredible strength, durability, and literal interpretation of metaphors. He's a skilled fighter, though often impulsive. His character provides much of the comedic relief within the Guardians team.
